What To Expect
Please contact us to schedule your appointment as soon as you know about your upcoming surgery. In most cases, we need to see you at least 10 days before the procedure. Delaying your appointment may result in a delay in obtaining your surgical clearance.

If your surgeon has requested that you have to be cleared by your primary care provider, then YES.

You will need specific labs and an EKG within 30 days of your surgery date.
You will need a chest x-ray or CT scan of your chest within 6 months of your surgery date, as long as it is normal. Will need to be repeated if it is abnormal.
You will need an office visit within 30 days of your surgery date, to review all your tests, examinations and go over your medications in detail.

Within 24 hours of your surgery clearance appointment.

Your provider will discuss at your surgery clearance appointment what further action is required to be cleared for your surgery.
If no further action is necessary, your clearance will be sent to your surgeon within 48 hours.

If you are actively being treated by a cardiologist, then yes, immediately call your cardiologist and notify them you are having surgery and get a cardiac clearance.
Bring your cardiac clearance to your surgery clearance appointment to prevent delays.

Notify your primary care physician office immediately of your surgery date.
Complete all tests required by your primary care physician at least 5 days prior to your surgery clearance appointment.
Bring your Cardiac Clearance if you need one to your appointment.
Bring your surgery clearance paperwork to your appointment.
